FilterSnap

FilterSnap is a mobile app that helps DIY car owners and small shops stop guessing which oil filter (and drain plug washer) fits a specific vehicle. Users scan the barcode/label on the old filter or snap a photo; the app matches it to a verified part number, cross-references equivalents, and flags common fitment traps (thread pitch, gasket OD, bypass valve spec). It then builds a one-tap reorder cart from multiple retailers and local parts stores, showing real-time price and pickup/delivery options. The app also stores oil type/viscosity, capacity, and last-change notes per vehicle, with reminders based on time and mileage. This is not glamorous: the hard part is building a trustworthy fitment database and keeping it clean. If you can’t maintain data quality, users will churn immediately.
