FishFresh

FishFresh is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that helps home cooks and small food businesses reduce seafood and meat waste by tracking freshness with simple, realistic inputs. Users log purchase date, storage method (fridge/freezer), package type (vacuum-sealed, butcher wrap, tray), and product type (salmon, shrimp, ground beef, chicken thighs). The app generates conservative “use by” windows based on widely accepted food-safety guidance, then nudges users with reminders to cook, freeze, or discard. It also includes a quick “risk check” flow: you answer a few questions (temperature abuse, odor, slime, thaw/refreeze) and it returns a blunt recommendation: safe, questionable, or toss. This is not a magic sensor app; it’s a practical decision tool that prevents the common failure: forgetting what’s in the fridge and guessing later.
