FitmentProof is a mobile + web app (traditional + AI) that helps DIYers and small shops confirm aftermarket parts compatibility before buying or installing. Users scan a VIN, then scan the part barcode/label (or paste a listing URL). The app cross-checks OEM part numbers, known interchange data, and vehicle option codes (engine, trim, brakes, production date splits). It flags common “almost fits” traps (caliper bracket differences, sensor connector revisions, wheel offset, submodel changes) and outputs a simple green/yellow/red fitment verdict with reasons. For ambiguous cases, it requests 2–3 photos (mount points, connector, measurements) and uses AI vision + a guided checklist to reduce guesswork. It also stores a “garage” history of what actually fit on that exact vehicle, creating a private fitment log that prevents repeat mistakes and speeds future repairs.
