FixItBlock

FixItBlock is a mobile + web app that helps residents report small-but-persistent neighborhood problems (streetlight out, illegal dumping, sidewalk hazards, graffiti) and track them to resolution without needing to understand city bureaucracy. Users submit a photo, location, and category; the app routes it to the right department or property owner workflow and creates a public status page with deadlines, updates, and escalation steps. It also supports “micro-volunteering” options when the fix is community-doable (e.g., cleanup event signups) and shows a simple reliability score for agencies/HOAs based on closure time. This is not a magic wand: many cities are slow and some won’t integrate. The MVP focuses on a few municipalities/HOAs where email/API intake is possible and provides clear, auditable timelines so residents stop feeling ignored and leaders can’t hide behind vague responses.
