FixItLens

FixItLens is a mobile + web AI how-to app that creates step-by-step repair tutorials from what you’re looking at. Point your phone at a leaking sink, a bike derailleur, or a PC build, and the app identifies parts, asks a few clarifying questions, then generates a concise plan with tools, parts list, time estimate, and safety warnings. It overlays AR-style annotations (what screw, which valve, where to unplug) and lets users record their own process to automatically produce a shareable tutorial with chapters, captions, and a parts list. The honest reality: general “how-to” content is saturated and free on YouTube; this only works if it reliably reduces mistakes and wasted trips to the hardware store. The MVP should focus on a narrow set of domains (common home repairs + bikes) where visual guidance and parts identification actually saves money.
