FlashAudit
FlashAudit is a desktop app (Windows/macOS/Linux) for monitoring and validating external drives, SSDs, and USB flash media with a focus on catching “looks fine but isn’t” devices. It runs scheduled SMART/health checks where available, performs lightweight read/write spot tests to detect bad blocks and counterfeit capacity, and logs performance drift over time. It also tracks drive history (hours, power cycles, temperature patterns), flags risky enclosures/cables, and generates a simple “trust score” per device. For teams, it can export signed reports for compliance or RMA claims. This is a traditional app with a small AI component: anomaly detection on performance/health trends to warn earlier than static thresholds. It’s realistic: it won’t magically fix failing hardware, but it can reduce surprise data loss by pushing users to replace or back up sooner.
