FlockForecast

FlockForecast is a mobile + web AI app that helps birders, photographers, and local conservation groups anticipate when migratory species are likely to pass through specific hotspots. Users pick species and locations, then the app combines public weather forecasts, wind direction, temperature drops, radar-based migration intensity, and recent community sightings to generate a simple “go/no-go” migration window for the next 72 hours. It’s not a magic oracle: the app clearly shows confidence levels, what data drove the prediction, and when data is too sparse to be useful. A lightweight “field mode” provides offline checklists and one-tap logging of observations to improve local accuracy over time. The business model is freemium: free basic forecasts, paid tier for advanced filters, alerts, and multi-location dashboards for clubs and NGOs.
