FloodLens
FloodLens is a mobile + web app that turns confusing flood maps into practical, address-level decisions for homeowners, renters, and small businesses. It combines public datasets (FEMA flood zones, USGS stream gauges, NOAA rainfall forecasts, local elevation models where available) into a single “risk timeline” for the next 0–72 hours and a longer-term baseline risk score. Users can drop a pin, save properties, and get clear guidance like: likely water depth ranges, nearest drainage/creek risk drivers, and what conditions would trigger flooding. It also supports photo-based reporting: users submit geotagged waterline photos during storms to improve local calibration and community awareness. This is not a replacement for insurance or emergency services; it’s a decision-support tool that prioritizes clarity and uncertainty ranges over false precision. Monetization: freemium for consumers, paid dashboards for property managers and local contractors.
