FloorBrief

FloorBrief is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps unicameral legislatures and their staff produce consistent, plain-language bill briefs and amendment summaries in minutes. Users upload a bill PDF/Word file or paste text; the app extracts sections, flags defined terms, and generates a standardized brief: purpose, key changes to existing law, fiscal/implementation notes, stakeholders affected, and a timeline of actions. It also compares versions (introduced vs. committee substitute vs. engrossed) and produces a clean redline plus a “what changed” narrative. The AI is assistive, not autonomous: every claim links back to the exact source clause, and staff can edit with tracked changes and export to PDF/Word for official distribution. Realistically, this won’t replace legal counsel or policy analysts, but it can cut the repetitive summarization work that clogs small unicameral offices.
