FloorQuote is a mobile + web app that helps homeowners get comparable, itemized bids for rug and flooring installs from vetted local installers. Users enter room dimensions, upload a few photos, pick materials (or paste product links), and set timing. The app standardizes the quote format (labor, underlayment, removal, disposal, transitions, stairs, furniture moving, warranty) so bids are apples-to-apples. Installers respond with fixed-price or range quotes and available dates; users can message, request revisions, and book with a deposit held in escrow. This is not magic: measurements can be wrong and edge cases exist, so the app clearly flags when an in-person measure is required and charges a small fee for verified measurements. The goal is reducing the biggest pain: uncertainty, hidden add-ons, and wasted time calling around.
