FlowBidder

FlowBidder is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for small-to-mid hydropower operators who sell into day-ahead and intraday electricity markets. It pulls river flow, reservoir level, weather forecasts, and plant constraints into one dashboard, then recommends generation schedules and market bids that respect water rights, ramp limits, and environmental flow requirements. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional optimization and rule constraints, plus ML-based inflow forecasting and anomaly detection on SCADA signals. The MVP focuses on one market region and a narrow set of plant types (run-of-river and small reservoir). Brutal truth: incumbents exist and utilities already have tools; you win only by being cheaper, faster to deploy, and tailored to operators who can’t afford enterprise ETRM suites.
