FlowFormula

FlowFormula is a web app (with optional desktop export tools) that helps state agencies and local governments calculate, validate, and document revenue-sharing distributions (e.g., sales tax, fuel tax, PILT-like programs, formula-driven transfers). Users load source data (collections, population, road miles, caps/floors, hold-harmless rules), configure formulas with version control, and generate distribution schedules plus audit-ready workpapers. The app flags anomalies (sudden swings, missing jurisdictions, out-of-range values) and produces standardized reports for finance, legislative oversight, and external auditors. It also tracks rule changes over time so staff can reproduce “what we paid and why” for any period. This is not a glamorous product: it’s spreadsheet replacement for high-stakes money movement, designed to reduce manual errors, shorten close cycles, and survive audits without heroics.
