FocusLease

FocusLease is a cross-platform distraction blocker that turns “I’ll stop scrolling” into a binding commitment. Instead of just blocking apps/sites on a schedule (which users easily override), you create a Focus Lease: a time window tied to a real stake (money, reputation, or team accountability). During the lease, distracting apps and sites are blocked across desktop and mobile, and overrides are intentionally painful: they require a cooldown, a written reason, and notifying an accountability partner (or team channel). For solo users, the stake can be a refundable deposit that’s forfeited if you break the lease too often. For teams, managers can’t spy on content—only lease adherence metrics. The app focuses on behavior change: patterns, relapse triggers, and “high-risk hours” suggestions. It’s not magic; it’s a system that makes distraction expensive and inconvenient enough to reduce it.
