FOIAFlow

FOIAFlow is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps journalists, nonprofits, and civic watchdogs manage public-records requests end-to-end across agencies. Users can draft requests from proven templates, submit via email/portal, and automatically log confirmations, deadlines, and follow-ups. The system builds a searchable repository of received documents and extracted metadata, then publishes a clean “request timeline” page for transparency and collaboration. An AI layer can summarize long PDFs, detect missing pages, and flag likely exemptions or redactions for review—without pretending to replace legal judgment. Realistically, the hardest part isn’t the software; it’s agency variance and messy inputs. So the product focuses on reliability: email ingestion, deadline tracking, and evidence-grade audit trails. It’s not glamorous, but it saves hours and reduces dropped requests.
