FOIAFlow

FOIAFlow is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps journalists, watchdog nonprofits, and businesses submit public records requests, track statutory deadlines, and manage follow-ups across multiple agencies. It generates jurisdiction-specific request templates, logs all communications, and produces an audit-ready timeline for appeals or litigation. The app centralizes documents, fees, exemptions cited, and response quality, then benchmarks agencies by responsiveness so users can choose better phrasing and routing next time. An AI layer can summarize released PDFs, extract key entities, and draft narrowly-scoped follow-up requests to reduce denials and “overly broad” rejections. The product is realistic because it focuses on workflow and evidence preservation—things users already do poorly in email and spreadsheets—rather than promising magical “instant FOIA.” Expect slow procurement and uneven agency cooperation; the app must work even when agencies stay stuck in email and PDFs.
