FOIAForge
FOIAForge is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps residents, journalists, nonprofits, and small businesses file public records requests and actually manage the messy follow-through. It guides users through jurisdiction-specific templates, auto-generates narrowly scoped requests, tracks statutory deadlines, and keeps a clean audit trail of communications and documents. It also flags common agency stall tactics (overbroad claims, fee inflation, “no responsive records”) and suggests next steps, including appeal language. This is not magic: agencies can still ignore you, and some states are hostile. The value is reducing user error, keeping pressure consistent, and making it easy to escalate with evidence. For agencies that accept it, FOIAForge can submit via email, portal, or fax integrations and store everything in one place. Monetization: subscription for power users and organizations, plus per-request fees for occasional users.
