FOIAForge

FOIAForge is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps journalists, watchdog NGOs, researchers, and small businesses draft, submit, and track public-records requests across federal, state, and local agencies. It guides users through jurisdiction-specific templates, required fields, fee-waiver language, and common exemptions, then generates a clean request packet and a submission checklist (email, portal, mail). The app tracks statutory deadlines, auto-reminds users, and stores correspondence and produced documents in a searchable workspace. An AI layer suggests tighter wording, predicts likely denial reasons based on agency history, and recommends narrowing strategies to reduce “overly broad” rejections. This is not magic: agencies still delay and stonewall, but the product reduces avoidable mistakes, improves follow-up discipline, and creates an auditable timeline that users can use for appeals or litigation referrals.
