FormularyIQ

FormularyIQ is a mobile + web app (traditional app with light AI) that helps patients and clinic staff quickly identify realistic generic alternatives that are actually covered by a specific insurance plan. Users enter a drug name, dose, and pharmacy, then select their insurer and plan (or upload a formulary PDF). The app returns: covered generic options, tier placement, prior auth/step therapy flags, quantity limits, and an estimated out-of-pocket range. It also generates a pharmacist-ready “switch request” note the prescriber can copy into the EHR or send via fax/eRx messaging. The AI component is limited to parsing messy formulary PDFs and mapping brand-to-generic and therapeutic equivalents; all final results are shown with citations to the source formulary page to avoid dangerous hallucinations. The goal is fewer abandoned prescriptions and fewer back-and-forth calls.
