FreshRadius

FreshRadius helps people buy truly local and seasonal food without relying on vague labels. It’s a mobile + web app that uses your location to show what produce, eggs, dairy, and meats are in-season within a chosen radius (e.g., 50–250 miles), then links you to nearby sources: farmers markets, farm stands, CSAs, and small grocers. Users can scan a receipt or product barcode to log purchases and get a “local-seasonal score” with plain-language explanations (e.g., “Tomatoes: likely greenhouse/imported this week”). It also provides weekly “what to buy” lists, simple swap suggestions, and alerts when peak-season items hit your area. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI summarizes confusing origin info and generates practical shopping lists, but the core value is accurate regional seasonality and source discovery.
