FretScan
FretScan is a mobile AI app that uses your phone camera to assess guitar and bass fret wear, neck relief, action, and basic intonation red flags from guided photos and short video. It outputs a simple “service needed” score, annotated images, and a checklist you can take to a tech or use yourself. The app also stores instrument profiles (scale length, string gauge, tuning) and tracks changes over time so you can see if a neck is moving seasonally or if a fret is developing a flat spot. This is not magic: it won’t replace a luthier’s measurements, and accuracy depends on lighting and user compliance. But it can reliably catch obvious problems early, reduce bad marketplace purchases, and help players communicate issues clearly to repair shops.
