FrictionFox

FrictionFox is a web app (with a lightweight mobile SDK) that turns messy usability testing into a repeatable pipeline for small product teams. It records moderated or unmoderated sessions, auto-transcribes audio, and clusters user “friction moments” (hesitations, rage clicks, repeated backtracks) into a prioritized issue list mapped to screens and tasks. You get short highlight reels, a severity score, and copy-pastable Jira/Linear tickets with evidence links. The brutal truth: it won’t replace a skilled researcher, and it won’t magically fix bad product strategy. What it can do is cut the time sink of reviewing hours of video and arguing about what matters. It’s designed for teams that do some testing but are inconsistent, under-resourced, and drowning in qualitative data they never synthesize properly.
