FriendSplit

FriendSplit is a mobile app (with a lightweight web companion) that helps people navigate a friendship breakup with structure and minimal collateral damage. It guides users through choosing a goal (clean break, low-contact, or repair attempt), drafting a message in their own voice, and setting boundaries (social media, mutual friends, events). It includes a “Mutuals Map” to plan what to say to shared friends, a checklist for practical disentangling (group chats, shared subscriptions, photos), and a private journal to track triggers and progress. Optional AI helps rewrite messages to be clear, non-inflammatory, and consistent with the user’s intent, but the user always approves final text. The app avoids pretending to be therapy; it’s a pragmatic toolkit for a messy social problem that people currently handle poorly via impulsive texts or ghosting.
