FrogWatchr

FrogWatchr is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps users identify frogs and toads by sound and photo, then submit geo-tagged observations to a moderated community map. The core value is fast, credible identification: record a 10–20 second call or snap a photo, get a ranked match, and see similar species in your region. Submissions can be “community verified” by experienced herpers and local experts, reducing the junk-data problem that plagues many citizen-science platforms. The app also supports simple survey workflows for volunteers: timed listening sessions, habitat notes, and automatic weather/context capture. Monetization is realistic: freemium for hobbyists, plus paid “Project” workspaces for conservation groups and universities that need structured data exports and permissions. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI accelerates ID, humans keep it trustworthy.
