FrostCue

FrostCue is a mobile + web app that gives hyperlocal, yard-level frost alerts and clear, prioritized actions to protect plants. Instead of generic weather forecasts, it blends nearby station data, elevation, land cover, and your garden’s microclimate notes (slope, wind exposure, beds vs pots) to estimate actual leaf-level frost risk. The app outputs a simple “Tonight: low/medium/high risk” with a checklist: which plants to cover, move, water, or harvest first, and how long protection is needed. It also tracks what you did and whether damage occurred, improving future recommendations for your specific garden. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps translate conditions into practical steps and learns from your outcomes, but the core value is reliable alerting and decision support. Realistically, it wins only if alerts are accurate and actionable; otherwise it’s just another weather app.
