FrostPermit
FrostPermit is a web + mobile app that helps research teams and expedition operators assemble, track, and submit the messy compliance required for tundra and polar work: land access permissions, wildlife disturbance plans, waste/fuel handling, drone rules, safety briefings, and emergency contacts. It provides jurisdiction-specific checklists (e.g., Alaska, Canada, Svalbard, Greenland), a shared document vault, and a timeline that flags what’s missing before a departure date. The AI component reads your draft methods/itinerary and suggests required forms, risk mitigations, and wording that matches typical agency expectations—without pretending it guarantees approval. It also creates a “field compliance pack” that works offline: key permits, maps, spill response steps, and contact trees. This is not a science app; it’s operational plumbing that reduces delays, rework, and last-minute scrambles.
