FuelBlendIQ
FuelBlendIQ is a web app (with optional tablet companion) that helps fossil and transition power plants plan and operate fuel blending and co-firing (natural gas with hydrogen, ammonia, or biogas) while staying within safety, emissions, and equipment constraints. Operators enter unit configuration (turbine/boiler model, burner limits, materials constraints), fuel specs, and current operating targets. The app calculates feasible blend ranges, expected heat rate impacts, NOx/CO2 changes, and flags risks like flashback, combustion instability, and corrosion exposure based on vendor guidance and plant rules. It produces shift-ready operating envelopes and a change-management record for engineering sign-off. This is not a magic autopilot—it's a decision-support tool that reduces trial-and-error and prevents costly “learn the hard way” tests. It integrates with historian tags to compare predicted vs actual outcomes and refine site-specific limits over time.
