FuelBlendIQ
FuelBlendIQ is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for thermal power plants that burn variable fuels (coal blends, biomass co-fire, refinery gas, LNG, diesel backup). It helps operators and fuel managers decide the cheapest feasible fuel mix for the next 24 hours to 30 days while staying inside heat-rate, boiler constraints, and emissions permit limits. Users enter or import fuel assays, delivered prices, unit constraints, and emissions factors; the app runs an optimization to propose blend targets and expected outcomes (cost/MWh, CO2, NOx, SO2, ash/slag risk). It also tracks “as-burned” vs “as-planned” performance and flags when incoming fuel quality drifts enough to jeopardize compliance or reliability. This is not a magic autopilot—plants still need good data and discipline—but it can replace brittle spreadsheets and reduce expensive trial-and-error blending decisions.
