FunBudgeter

FunBudgeter is a mobile app that helps people cap “fun money” spending across hobbies, nights out, games, events, and subscriptions—without forcing full-on budgeting. Connect your bank via Plaid, then the app auto-detects hobby/fun merchants and asks quick one-tap confirmations when it’s unsure. You set a weekly or monthly “Fun Cap” and optional per-hobby caps (e.g., concerts, golf, crafts). When you’re about to blow the cap, it nudges you with realistic tradeoffs (“If you buy this, you’ll need to skip one takeout or one movie”). It also highlights recurring leaks (subscriptions, in-app purchases) and suggests a simple “swap list” of cheaper alternatives nearby. This is not a finance guru app; it’s a lightweight guardrail for people who keep saying, “Where did my money go?”
