FurProof is a mobile + web AI app that helps shoppers and small retailers verify whether a product likely contains real fur or leather and whether brand claims are credible. Users scan a barcode or product page, upload a close-up photo of the material, and get a risk score with plain-language reasoning: brand policy history, past controversies, country-of-origin risk, and material cues from the image. It also provides safer alternatives and a “proof pack” brands can publish (supplier declarations, audit summaries, and material test receipts). The app is brutally practical: it won’t promise certainty from a photo alone. Instead, it flags uncertainty, recommends next steps (ask for documentation, choose certified alternatives), and highlights brands with consistent, verifiable policies. Monetization comes from premium consumer features (alerts, watchlists) and a lightweight compliance portal for ethical brands and boutiques.
