GapGuard
GapGuard is a mobile + web app that tells car buyers and owners whether GAP insurance is actually worth it for their specific deal—before they sign. Users scan or upload their purchase contract/lease, lender terms, and insurance declarations page. The app calculates the real “gap exposure” over time using amortization, expected depreciation curves, taxes/fees, deductible, and payoff rules, then flags common traps (rolled-in negative equity, extended terms, high APR, add-ons). It also compares dealer-offered GAP vs insurer/rider options and shows a simple break-even price: “Paying more than $X is a bad bet.” It’s not a marketplace first; it’s a decision tool with audit-ready outputs users can bring to the finance office. Optional reminders help users cancel GAP when it no longer makes sense.
