GapPulse

GapPulse helps car owners decide if gap insurance is actually worth buying (or keeping) based on their real loan and vehicle value trajectory. Users enter or import their loan details, mileage, and purchase price; the app estimates current market value ranges and projects depreciation vs. loan payoff month-by-month. It then flags “gap exposure” periods where a total loss would leave them underwater, and suggests the cheapest ways to reduce exposure (extra principal payments, shorter term, refinancing, or dropping gap when it no longer makes sense). It also stores policy documents and provides a simple checklist for what to do after a total loss so users don’t miss deadlines. This is not a magic money-saver: it won’t beat insurers’ pricing, but it can prevent people from paying for unnecessary coverage or skipping it when they’re most at risk.
