GapReceipt

GapReceipt is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps job seekers document and present career gaps with credible evidence instead of vague explanations. Users create “gap packets” for periods of unemployment, caregiving, health recovery, travel, study, freelancing, or failed startups. The app guides them to add artifacts (course certificates, volunteer letters, invoices, GitHub links, portfolio items, references) and generates a clean, recruiter-friendly summary plus a shareable link. It also provides templates for reference requests and a structured “gap story” that stays factual and avoids oversharing. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI helps draft summaries and tailor wording to a role, but the core value is organized evidence and presentation. The goal is not to magically erase gaps—it’s to reduce doubt and shorten screening friction with straightforward documentation.
