GearFitCheck

GearFitCheck helps parents avoid wasting money on kids’ gear that doesn’t fit: helmets, bikes, skates, life jackets, shoes, and more. It’s a mobile app that guides you through quick measurements (head circumference, inseam, foot length, chest) with camera-assisted prompts, then matches those measurements to real product size charts and brand-specific quirks. You can scan a barcode in-store or paste a product link online to see a “Fit Confidence” score, recommended size, and common mismatch warnings (e.g., “runs narrow,” “chin strap too short”). It also stores each child’s measurements over time and reminds you when growth likely makes a category risky to buy without re-checking. This is not magic: camera measurement is approximate, so the app is designed to be conservative and transparent, pushing manual checks when confidence is low.
