GearLedger
GearLedger is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) for athletes who own a lot of equipment and want to know what’s worth keeping, replacing, or selling. You scan a receipt or barcode, then the app builds a “gear passport” with purchase date, warranty window, expected lifespan, and maintenance schedule (e.g., restring tennis racquet, regrip golf clubs, helmet replacement). It also stores serial numbers and photos to help with theft claims and resale listings. The AI layer estimates remaining useful life based on sport, usage frequency, and common wear patterns, and it flags safety-critical items (helmets, pads) when they’re likely past safe service life. It’s not magic: the app will be most accurate when users log usage and upload photos, and it will clearly show confidence levels instead of pretending to be precise.
