GearProof is a mobile app that helps outdoor recreation users track, inspect, and maintain their gear so trips don’t get derailed by preventable failures (dead headlamp batteries, expired water filters, cracked climbing helmets, worn bike chains, leaky tents). You log gear once (or scan receipts), then the app schedules simple pre-trip checklists based on activity type, season, and past usage. It can estimate wear using mileage/hours, remind you of consumables (fuel, CO2, filter cartridges), and store proof-of-purchase/warranty info for fast claims. Optional AI features read product labels/receipts to auto-fill model numbers and recommend maintenance intervals from manuals. The app is intentionally not a social network; it’s a practical reliability tool for people who actually go outside and don’t want surprises at the trailhead or campsite.
