GeneGuard
GeneGuard is a web app (with optional desktop uploader) that helps conservation teams turn raw genotyping/sequence outputs into clear, defensible management metrics: relatedness, inbreeding (F), effective population size (Ne), genetic diversity trends, and simple “what-if” translocation/breeding scenarios. It focuses on the annoying middle: inconsistent file formats, missing metadata, and reports that donors and agencies can actually understand. Users upload common outputs (VCF, PLINK, STRUCTURE/admixture tables, microsatellite tables), map samples to individuals/populations, run standardized pipelines, and export a one-click PDF/slide deck with methods, caveats, and reproducible parameters. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for the validated calculations; AI to draft plain-language interpretations, flag suspicious results (batch effects, low call rates), and generate stakeholder-ready summaries with citations to the pipeline settings.
