GenRxSwitch

GenRxSwitch is a mobile + web app that helps patients and caregivers identify realistic generic or therapeutically equivalent alternatives to a prescribed medication and estimate out-of-pocket cost at nearby pharmacies. Users scan a prescription label or type the drug name, strength, and dosage form; the app then lists FDA Orange Book generics, common equivalents within the same class (clearly labeled as “not the same drug”), and typical cash prices using integrated pricing feeds. It generates a pharmacist-ready “switch sheet” with NDC options, strengths, and substitution notes to reduce back-and-forth. It also flags red lines: narrow therapeutic index drugs, controlled substances, and meds where switching is risky—pushing users to consult a pharmacist/clinician. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for drug database logic and pricing, AI for label parsing, plain-language explanations, and Q&A with strict safety guardrails.
