GFGuard is a mobile + web app that helps gluten-free users assess real-world risk at restaurants and packaged-food situations where labels and staff answers are unreliable. Users scan a menu photo or product label, then answer a short “context” checklist (shared fryer, oats handling, kitchen separation, staff training). The app returns a simple risk score with the exact reasons, plus a script of questions to ask staff and a recommended “safer order” alternative. It also stores your personal sensitivity profile (celiac vs. non-celiac, trace tolerance, oat tolerance) to tailor guidance. Community reports are allowed but weighted by recency and user credibility to avoid the usual noisy reviews. This is an AI + traditional app: AI extracts items and flags risky ingredients/phrases, while the rules engine and structured checklists keep it grounded and auditable.
