GiftGuard

GiftGuard is a web app + lightweight checkout plugin that helps online stores reduce gift-card-related fraud, chargebacks, and support tickets. It scores gift card and store-credit usage in real time using signals like velocity (how fast credits are applied), account age, device fingerprint, IP risk, unusual redemption patterns, and mismatch between buyer identity and redemption behavior. When risk is high, it can step up verification (OTP, email link, or requiring account login), throttle redemption amounts, or route the order to manual review. It also provides a clear admin dashboard showing why a transaction was flagged, so support teams can resolve legitimate cases quickly. This isn’t magic: it won’t eliminate fraud, but it can materially reduce the worst losses and “instant drain” scenarios that many merchants see with compromised accounts and stolen gift cards.
