GiftSplit is a web app + checkout plugin that lets shoppers use multiple gift cards and store credits in one purchase, even when merchants or platforms don’t support it cleanly. Users add their gift cards (or scan codes), and GiftSplit calculates the best way to apply balances across items, taxes, shipping, and partial payments—then generates a single “pay link” or guided checkout steps for supported stores. For merchants, it reduces cart abandonment caused by awkward gift card UX (one card at a time, balance leftovers, failed partial captures). The MVP focuses on Shopify first (largest reachable ecosystem), with a lightweight customer-facing widget and a merchant dashboard showing redemption rates, abandoned checkouts, and leftover balance liability. This is not glamorous: it’s a conversion and support-cost play. You’ll need tight platform compliance and careful handling of payment flows to avoid being blocked.
