GlacierBrief
GlacierBrief is a web + mobile app that turns messy cryosphere data into short, decision-ready updates for specific regions. Users pick an area (watershed, park, road corridor, hydropower basin) and receive a weekly brief: snowline and melt anomalies, glacier lake growth flags, temperature/precip drivers, and a plain-language “what changed and why” summary. It pulls from public satellite products and reanalysis, then uses AI to generate consistent, citeable narratives with links to the underlying maps and time series. The goal isn’t pretty visuals; it’s reducing the time it takes to answer: “Is this melt season abnormal, and should we adjust operations or safety messaging?” It includes a lightweight alerting system for rapid lake expansion or unusual melt spikes, plus an exportable one-page PDF for internal reporting.
