GlazeGuard

GlazeGuard is a mobile + web app that helps potters prevent common glaze failures (crawling, pinholing, blistering, shivering) by turning their own studio notes into a searchable, repeatable troubleshooting system. Users log a piece with clay body, glaze(s), thickness notes, application method, drying time, bisque/firing schedule, and photos before/after. The app then suggests likely causes and next-step tests based on a rules engine plus an AI assistant trained only on the user’s history and a curated defect library (not random internet guesses). It generates a simple “next firing plan” checklist: what to change, what to keep constant, and what to measure. This is not a magic glaze predictor; it’s a disciplined lab notebook with smarter recall and structured experiments, designed for real-world studios where variables are messy and time is limited.
