GlyphForge
GlyphForge is a web + desktop app for people creating or reviving writing systems (conlangs, endangered scripts, classroom projects). It helps you go from “cool glyph sketches” to a usable orthography: define an alphabet/syllabary, map sounds to symbols, set spelling rules, and instantly generate fonts and keyboard layouts. The app includes a text playground that flags ambiguous spellings, inconsistent diacritics, and unreadable glyph collisions at common sizes. It exports OpenType fonts, a simple IME/keyboard for major OSes, and a shareable specimen page so others can try typing immediately. This is not a mass-market consumer app; it’s a focused toolchain that removes the painful, fragmented workflow of bouncing between font editors, spreadsheets, and custom scripts. An AI assistant can suggest glyph variants, spacing, and rule consistency, but the creator stays in control.
