GrantLedger

GrantLedger is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for tracking, comparing, and auditing public science funding decisions and their policy rationale. It ingests grant award data from sources like NIH RePORTER, NSF Award Search, UKRI Gateway, and EU CORDIS, then normalizes fields (program, topic, institution, geography, demographics where available) into a single searchable ledger. Users can build dashboards that answer policy questions: which topics are growing, which regions are underfunded, and how priorities shift after new strategies or legislation. It also supports “decision trails” by attaching policy documents, calls for proposals, and evaluation criteria to award cohorts. This is not a magic truth machine: data is messy, incomplete, and sometimes politically sensitive. The product wins by making the best-available view easy to assemble, cite, and share with stakeholders.
