GridMyth

GridMyth is a mobile + web app that builds real energy literacy through short, scenario-based “myth checks” tied to everyday choices: EV charging, heat pumps, time-of-use rates, solar buyback, and blackout preparedness. Users answer a quick question (“Is running the dishwasher at night always greener?”), then see a plain-language explanation with local grid context (fuel mix, peak hours) and a confidence score that improves over time. It avoids preachy content and focuses on practical understanding: what changes emissions vs. what only shifts cost, what utilities actually control, and how to read a bill without getting scammed by bad advice online. It includes a lightweight “bill decoder” that teaches line items and flags common traps (demand charges, teaser rates) without pretending to be a full financial advisor.
