GridPulse

GridPulse is a mobile + web app that tells households and small businesses when the electric grid is cleanest and cheapest, then nudges them to run flexible loads (EV charging, laundry, water heating) during those windows. It combines local weather forecasts with grid carbon-intensity and price signals (where available) to produce a simple “best hours” schedule for the next 24–72 hours. Users can connect smart plugs/thermostats/EV chargers for basic automation, or just get alerts if they prefer manual control. The app focuses on realism: it won’t promise huge savings everywhere, and it clearly shows uncertainty when data is weak. A lightweight dashboard tracks avoided CO2 and estimated savings, and supports multiple locations for landlords or small operators. The MVP targets regions with reliable grid-intensity APIs first, expanding coverage as integrations grow.
