GriefRites

GriefRites is a mobile + web app that helps families and officiants plan end-of-life ceremonies for less-common or mixed traditions (e.g., humanist, pagan, interfaith, secular-with-symbols). It provides step-by-step checklists, timeboxed ceremony templates, readings/prayers library with attribution, and logistics coordination (venue, music, speakers, procession, memorial slideshow). An AI-assisted “Ceremony Builder” asks a few sensitive questions (belief boundaries, tone, length, cultural elements, family dynamics) and outputs a draft order-of-service plus printable programs. It also includes a collaboration space where relatives can suggest memories, approve wording, and assign roles without endless group texts. The app is realistic about constraints: it flags legal/venue limitations, suggests alternatives, and keeps everything exportable (PDF, DOCX) so users aren’t trapped. Monetization: per-event fee or subscription for celebrants/funeral homes.
