GriotVault
GriotVault is a mobile + web app for documenting African traditional religion practices as lived by families and communities—without turning them into a public spectacle. Users can record audio interviews, transcribe them, tag them by lineage, place, language, deity/spirit, festival, and ritual role, and store them in private “family vaults” with granular sharing controls. The app supports offline capture for rural or low-connectivity areas and later sync. A guided interview mode helps younger relatives ask better questions, while a consent workflow ensures elders approve what gets saved and who can access it. Optional AI helps with transcription, translation, and summarization, but the default is privacy-first: nothing is public unless explicitly published. The product is positioned as cultural preservation and family knowledge management, not as a “ritual instruction manual,” which reduces backlash and improves adoption.
