GripGauge
GripGauge is a mobile AI app that helps people rebuild and monitor hand and wrist motor skills using nothing but a smartphone. Instead of requiring a pricey dynamometer, users perform short daily tasks (pinch, squeeze, finger taps, wrist flex/extend) while the camera records. On-device computer vision estimates range of motion, tremor, speed, and consistency, then turns it into simple scores and trend lines. The app generates rehab-friendly routines (2–5 minutes) and reminders, and can export a clinician report (PDF/CSV) for occupational therapists. This is not a medical diagnosis tool; it’s a progress tracker and adherence engine. Realistically, accuracy will vary by lighting, skin tone, camera angle, and device quality, so the app includes calibration steps and “confidence” indicators. The goal is to make measurable progress visible, which is often the missing piece in home rehab.
