GroceryGuard

GroceryGuard is a mobile + web app that turns your grocery receipts and store purchases into a brutally practical nutrition system. Instead of asking users to log every meal (which most people quit), it focuses on the real choke point: what you buy. Connect your grocery loyalty accounts (or scan receipts) and the app classifies items into simple buckets (protein, produce, ultra-processed, snacks, sugary drinks). It then gives weekly “purchase scores,” flags repeat trigger items, and suggests realistic swaps based on your budget and preferred stores. Optional AI generates a 5-meal weekly plan using only what you already bought plus a short add-on list. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s reducing friction and preventing the pantry from becoming the problem. It works best for people who cook sometimes but keep getting derailed by snacks and convenience foods.
